Housing cash announced by Scottish Government
Orkney Islands Council will receive an extra £366,000 to help families into new social homes, Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed today.
This new money comes on top of the housing budget already allocated to the council and is part of a total funding package across Scotland of an extra £40 million for housing, which is expected to deliver around 1,000 homes, mainly for social rent, and support up to 700 jobs in construction and related sectors, over the next two years.
