I spy with my little eye . . . Stromness!

P7 pupils designed the pictures, which have been carved, by Historic Scotland stonemasons, on to the lanes and stone pavements around Stromness, to represent aspects of the town’s heritage.

Sharp-eyed folk in Stromness may have spied intriguing engravings recently on the lanes and pavements around the town.

They are part of I Spy Stromness – a new self-guided trail for children, created by P7 pupils from the town’s primary school, to enjoy.

Visiting and local children alike will be able to enjoy exploring the rich heritage of Stromness using the trail which is launched just in time for the Summer holidays.

The project will be launched on Monday at Stromness Primary School and leaflets and a limited number of full bags will be available through the VisitOrkney office in Stromness. It will also be possible to download the leaflet at www.stromnessorkney.com
