Island Games medal success

Orkney has claimed its first medals in the 2011 NatWest Island Games, on the Isle of Wight — both in clay pigeon shooting.

Michelle Koster and Melissa Thomson scored 102 points between them to claim a silver medal in this afternoon’s women’s sporting team shoot, while Derek Firth, Alan Clouston and Victor Smith amassed 156 points in the men’s sporting team event, to secure bronze.
