NatureScot, Scotland’s Nature Agency, is seeking a dedicated Operations Officer to join our team based in Kirkwall, Orkney. This is a unique opportunity to help protect and restore nature across the islands and the wider North of Scotland, with some homeworking options available.
In this role, you will be a key player in promoting action to safeguard our precious environment. You will advise on proposals affecting protected areas, provide guidance on schemes like Agri-environment and Climate, Peatland Action, and Nature Restoration, and assist with wildlife management. Other responsibilities include monitoring protected sites and contributing to biosecurity and climate change initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for nature and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility, good IT skills, and a relevant environmental qualification or equivalent experience are essential.
