Mixed results for Orkney footballers
Orkney’s junior  football team beat their Caithness counterparts at Picky this afternoon, but the senior side lost to the visitors.
The juniors recorded a deserved 4-3 win to reclaim the Corinthian Cup.
Orkney took the lead early on, but an own goal levelled the tie at half-time. Orkney continued to have the best of the play in the second half, and raced into a 4-1 lead, before Caithness replied twice late on to set up a nervy finish.
The junior encounter  was followed by the clash between the Orkney and Caithness senior sides.
Orkney were unable to make it a double over Caithness, however, with the visitors winning 2-0 to secure the Archer Shield.
