Kirkwall Airport fire crew on standby
The Kirkwall Airport fire crew was put on standby this morning as a Loganair flight from Aberdeen reported engine icing on approach.
According to a spokesman from Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd, emergency services were called to the airport just before 10am as a precaution.
The aircraft — a Saab 340 — with 33 people on board including crew, landed safely at 10am, on schedule.
