Kirkwall East councillors announced

From the left: David Dawson, Gwenda Shearer, John Ross Scott, and Steven Heddle have all been elected to Kirkwall East ward.

The first results are in for the Orkney Islands Council elections. The four seats for Kirkwall East ward have now been announced, at Kirkwall Town Hall.

David Dawson, Steven Heddle, John Ross Scott, and Gwenda Shearer have been elected as councillors.

A total of 1,627 first priority votes were cast in the ward with David Dawson taking 256 of these votes, Steven Heddle taking 474, John Ross Scott taking 291 and Gwenda Shearer taking 344.
