Kirkwall Lifeboat called to grounded vessel

Kirkwall Lifeboat was called out earlier this evening after a small vessel went aground at Carness.

The lifeboat was called to the Robina III  just as it left Kirkwall Pier on a regular RNLI exercise.

The Lifeboat was back in port at 8.20pm. It is hoped that the stricken vessel will be able to be refloated in the early hours of the morning.
