Kirkwall road closures planned next week
Victoria Street in Kirkwall will be closed to traffic during the day for three days, next week.
Orkney Islands Council has confirmed that the street will be closed from 9am until 12pm and then again from 1pm until 3pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday next week (October 9-11).
The closures are being put in place to allow general street repairs to take place. As the street will be closed, contractors will also take the opportunity will to carry out some additional  works at the head of Victoria Street for the ongoing Places and Spaces project. The street will be closed from the junction with Broad Street through to Victoria Road.
According to the council, Tankerness Lane will remain closed, but pedestrian access will be maintained throughout. OICÂ would also like to apologise for any inconvenience that the road closure may cause.
