Launch for project to document 21st century life in Westray

A project to creating a snapshot of 21st century life is launched in Westray on Saturday evening.

The Westray Living Heritage project aims to provide present and future generations with a view of life in the island during the early part of this century.  A website, westrayslivingheritage.co.uk, has been set up, and folk can also follow the project on Facebook.

Islanders past and present, young and old, are being encouraged to supply pictures of events and day-to-day life taken since the year 2000.

The plan is to cover all aspects of island life, including farming, fishing, school, building, food processing, renewable energy, sports, entertainment, tourism and transport, not to mention the island’s scenery and wildlife.
