Local charity looking to help Baby Jack
The Orkney Charitable Trust is looking to help another local family.
Jack Donaldson, from Dounby, was born in April 2015 and is a lovely, happy little boy.
He has a rare heart defect that has required several operations already in his short life. Jack is presently in hospital, in Glasgow, awaiting further surgery and battling an infection.
Jack’s parents, Chris and Nicola, are doing all they can to support him and his three-year-old sister, Eva.
Nicola said: “It is a tough time for us all, trying to cover the rent, the bills and survive – especially being apart from each other,” she said, “but the most important thing is that Jack and Eva know we are here for them.”
The Orkney Charitable Trust has opened “Jack’s Fund” for donations to provide some support for the family. At the time of writing, £1,345 has been pledged.
Chairman Craig Spence explained: “Jack is a really brave wee boy with a real fighting spirit. The family have a tough year ahead of them but with a little help, their worries can be eased a bit, and let them put all their energy into helping Jack”.
