MSPs write to minister about possible NorthLink strike

Orkney and Shetland MSPs Liam McArthur and Tavish Scott have written to the Scottish minister for transport, Keith Brown, seeking reassurances following reports of possible strike action on Northern Isles ferry routes.

In the letter, the MSPs press the importance of the lifeline ferry service, and urge the minister to take action to avert any threat of a strike.

They have asked the minister to set out what steps he is taking and to provide a guarantee that these vital services will not be affected by any potential industrial action.
