No change at head of Stromness Community Council

There was no change at the top of the Stromness Community Council on Monday, with George Argo and Brian Chalmers returned as chairman and vice-chairman respectively.

Following the election of office bearers, Kenny Holland was appointed municipal and road services (MARS) representative and George Argo planning representative.

Stromness Community Council hope to appoint an additional member, to bring them up to full strength, at their meeting in June.

Speaking at Monday’s meeting, Johnny Mowat asked for an update on the fact that the community council was still short of one member.

Chairman George Argo told members that there had been a number of expressions of interest and hoped that at next month’s meeting the interested parties would come forward.
