Northlink freight ship suffering ‘technical difficulties’
Following the recent problems occurring with their freight ship, MV Helliar, Serco Northlink have today stated that the problems lie with one of the vessel’s propellers.
The problems with the Helliar, which travels between Aberdeen, Kirkwall and Lerwick, arose yesterday causing delays to the shipping of livestock.
A Serco NorthLink Ferries spokesperson said: “The M.V Helliar is currently proceeding to dry-dock following technical difficulties with one of the vessel’s propellers.”
“Once in the dry-dock, the problem will be investigated and any necessary repairs carried out. Updates will be provided as repair schedules have been identified.”
