Open day at Orkney College UHI

An open day is to be held at Orkney College UHI tomorrow, Friday.

The college is invited anyone who may be interested in their courses to come along, between 1pm and 5pm and see what the departments have to offer.

Staff will be on-hand to speak to, so that prospective students can get an idea of the variety that goes on within each of the college’s departments.

Those who attend will also be able to see 4000-year-old ceramics, the creation of 3D images from a laser scanner and whale bones from the Cata Sands Excavation in Sanday all courtesy of the archaeology department.

The art and design will be displaying mono printing, the business and administration will be holding a treasure hunt and the computer science department will be showing examples of games designed by students.

There will also be displays and stands from the college’s many other departments.
