The Orcadian Bookshop in the running for national award
The Orcadian Bookshop has been shortlisted in the Scottish section of the British Book Awards 2017 Independent Bookshop of the Year.
The Kirkwall retailer is one of six Scottish finalists after what the award organisers have described as a record number of submissions.
Forty-two independent bookshops, from eight regions across the UK, will compete to become regional winners, with the results announced on March 15.
The regional winners will then vie for the overall title at the British Book Awards, in London, on May 8.
While the final decision lies with the judges, the panel would like to here from customers as to why The Orcadian Bookshop should win.
To allow this, an online form has been set up at http://bit.ly/2mjXYeq and a selection of these comments will be passed to the jury.
