Orkney bids sought for CashBack projects
A scheme that uses money recovered from criminals to help finance projects for young people is looking for applications for funding from
Orkney.
CashBack for Communities supports activities that increase opportunities for young people to develop their interests and skills in an
enjoyable, fulfilling and supported way. It offers awards to youth work groups to provide diversionary events and activities for young people who could be at risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour.
Just over £3,000 is available for projects in Orkney – with applications required by February 3. The projects would need to be completed by May 31.
In the past funding from CashBack for Communities has helped support projects in a number of local communities, including Hoy, Eday and Sanday – everything from a youth café to an after-school activity programme.
