Orkney charities share £16,000 from the Co-op
Three Orkney charities have shared just over £16,000 donated by the Co-op Community Fund.
One per cent of members’ brand purchases made at the Co-op’s Kirkwall, Dounby and Stromness stores goes to the fund, which is then shared out between nominated charities.
Yesterday, Wednesday, Crossroads Orkney received £5,410, the Stromness Ladies Lifeboat Guild £5,311 and the Orkney MS Society £5,291.
Representatives from each charity are pictured receiving their cheques from Gail Petrie, manager of the Dounby Co-op, along with pupils from the Dounby School.
