Orkney firms among the apprenticeship finalists
Orkney Housing Association and two local companies are among the finalists in the Scottish Apprenticeship Awards, organised by Skills Development Scotland (SDS).
The social landlord is hoping for a win in the Public Sector Employer category of this year’s awards. Scottish Sea Farms is a contender in the Large Employer category for organisations with more than 250 employees. Scaffold Orkney is a finalist in the Micro Employer category for organisations with fewer than ten employees.
The awards will take place Thursday, November 3, at the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh.
SDS’s Chief Executive Damien Yeates said: “The Apprenticeship Awards are an opportunity to acknowledge the incredible commitment shown by employers and apprentices. It is great to welcome finalists in the new categories for Foundation and Graduate apprentices, which are recent additions to Scotland’s apprenticeship family.
“I want to congratulate Orkney Housing Association, Scottish Sea Farms and Scaffold Orkney on reaching the finals which showcase the wholehearted support for apprenticeships shown by employer finalists and the benefits apprentices brings to the country’s workplaces.”
