Orkney man elected SNP MP for Airdrie and Shotts
An Orcadian has been elected as MP for Airdrie and Shotts.
Neil Gray, from Burray and a former pupil of Kirkwall Grammar School, took the seat for the SNP with a vote of 23,887 – a majority of almost 9,000.
In second place was Labour’s Pamela Nash, with 15,108 votes.
