Orkney Sports Awards shortlist announced

Three of Orkney’s top female athletes are in the running for the prestigious Sportsperson of the Year Award, as the 2017 Orkney Sports Award shortlist is announced.

In what is arguably the strongest Sportsperson of the Year shortlist since the awards returned, Anna Tait, Sarah MacPhail and Hannah Beaven are in contention to pick up the prize as Orkney’s outstanding athlete of 2017.

Twenty-eight individuals and teams have made the shortlist, covering nine categories.
