Our Islands campaign hits Twitter

A new Twitter feed has been launched for the Our Islands Our Future campaign.

According to the OIC, @islands2014 will have all the latest information on the campaign and will play a significant role in next week’s Our Islands Our Future conference, which takes place, in Kirkwall, on September 19 and 20.

The public and conference delegates can visit the feed to find out the latest from the conference and a hashtag #islands2014 will also be used in an effort to stimulate an online debate and get the campaign trending on the social media site.

The campaign has seen Orkney Islands Council join forces with colleagues in Shetland Islands Council and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar to press the Scottish and UK Governments for more powers following the Independence Referendum in September 2014.
