Pier Arts Centre looking ahead to Christmas exhibition

The Pier Arts Centre is appealing for local artists to submit work for inclusion in this year’s Christmas exhibition.

According to the Stromness Gallery, the annual event always attracts entries from a large number of local artists, working in a wide range of media. A highlight of the centre’s annual programme, the exhibition showcases the volume and diversity of creative work being produced in Orkney.

The centre’s Isla Holloway said: “The Christmas Open exhibition is an opportunity for artists and makers in Orkney to have their work displayed alongside some exemplary examples of British modern and contemporary art in an award-winning building.”

Artists or craftspeople are invited to submit of up to two pieces for inclusion in the exhibition, which opens on November 21.

The work must be submitted with a completed entry form which can be downloaded from the Pier Arts Centre website or collected from the gallery.
