Police advise caution after road accidents
Police in Orkney are advising motorists to be extra cautious after two minor traffic accidents, both thought to be due to icy conditions, took place early this morning, Friday.
The first took place near Davie’s Brig, Firth, and saw a car leave the road at the shore side of the road and end up on it’s roof. Police have said that no one was hurt in the accident and no damage has been done other than to the car itself, which has since been recovered.
Police report that the second took place on the A965, St Ola, when a car left the road and collided with a wall. No one was hurt and the driver of the vehicle has since had it recovered.
A police spokesman said, “We would like to remind drivers to be careful and drive at an appropriate speed when making journeys in adverse weather conditions.”
