Police appeal after thousands of pounds worth of tools stolen
Police in Kirkwall are appealing for information today, Wednesday, after the theft of thousands of pounds worth of tools from a new house site in Firth.
According to police, sometime between the evening of Monday and the morning of Tuesday, this week, entry was forced into the house, which is under construction on the Burness Road.
Two local tradesmen had tools worth over three thousand pounds stolen in the incident.
The items taken included two Makita drills and a selection of woodworking tools as well as some specialised taping and filling equipment and a Festool drywall sanding machine. A nine-inch grinder is also missing from the site.
Anybody who is offered any similar tools for sale or anyone who may have any information which may assist with the enquiry is requested to contact Kirkwall police on 101.
