Police launch air rifle amnesty

Police are asking anyone with an unwanted air weapon to “surrender” it at Kirkwall police station as part of a campaign ahead of new licensing legislation.

The three-week surrender campaign runs across Scotland until June 12.

From December 31, it will be illegal for anyone to own an air weapon without a licence.
