Postal vote reminder for the isles
The electoral registration officer in Orkney is urging voters in the isles who have not returned their postal vote application forms issued in mid-December to do so as soon as possible.
Following consultation with isles residents, the Orkney Islands Council introduced postal, or “absent”, voting for all outer and inner islands within Orkney.
Isles voters will also be able to vote at their nearest Mainland Orkney polling station.
Any isles households in Orkney who have not received an application form, or need a replacement form, should contact the Electoral Registration Office at 8 Broad Street, Kirkwall, on 876222 or email ero@orkney.gov.uk.
The deadline to register for postal votes in the May 3 elections is April 18.
