Pupils encouraged to have ‘Driving Ambition’
Papdale Halls of Residence is the venue today for the “Driving Ambition” programme aimed at helping steer new drivers in the right direction.
The programme was delivered in Orkney for the first time last year and provides young drivers with information on a variety of road safety elements: the main aim being to encourage them to be safe and responsible learners, drivers and passengers.
Orkney Islands Council, along with its partners, will deliver the programme to fifth year pupils from Kirkwall Grammar School and fourth year pupils from the Sanday, Stronsay and Westray Junior High Schools.
Stromness Academy S5s and S6s will not be taking part this year, as due to smaller numbers, they only require the programme each alternate year.
