Put your bins out early please . . .
Orkney Islands Council is asking households and businesses on the Monday refuse collection route in central Kirkwall to put their bins out for collection half an hour earlier than usual tomorrow, Monday.
This is to help with preparations for the Battle of Jutland commemorations the following day.
Darren Richardson, Orkney Islands Council’s head of roads and environmental services, said: “Residents and businesses are asked to take their bins back in as soon as possible after this – or to ask a friend or neighbour to do this for them.
“Many preparations need to take place during Monday ahead of the Jutland events and having the bins emptied and off the streets as early as possible will greatly assist with this. The help and co-operation of people in the area will be greatly appreciated.”
