Four Orcadians have made the shortlist for the 2019 Young Professionals Green Energy Awards.
EMEC’s Catrin Sutherland, OIC’s Eibhlin Lee, Ryan Doull who works for Orbital Marine Power, and Craig Stout, of ORE Catapult have all made the 39-strong shortlist.
More than 100 nominees who’ve worked in Scotland’s renewable energy industry for five years or less have made the shortlist to an event which will see 250 guests at Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel on Thursday, May 30 discover the winners.
Miss Sutherland said she was delighted to been nominated for the award.
“It is a great honour to have the work I do recognised by my colleagues, clients and the judges,” she said.
“Working at EMEC has provided me with countless opportunities to take on new responsibilities and make my mark on the sector, and for that I am incredibly grateful.
“It’s an honour to get to work with our clients first hand and help them realise their commercial potential by utilising EMEC’s lessons learned over the years. It has been a privilege working on so many exciting projects over the last two years and supporting them come to fruition.”
Claire Mack, chief executive of Scottish Renewables, added: “Once again I’m hugely impressed with the standard of nominations submitted for the awards. 2019’s nominees really do showcase the skill and innovation which exists among the young professionals within our sector.
“Those shortlisted should be extremely proud of their achievements, and we hope that being a finalist in the Young Professionals Green Energy Awards will encourage them to further grow and develop in their careers and continue to shape the future of renewable energy.”
