Raising awareness of Victim Support Scotland
The Orkney branch of Victim Support Scotland is holding a sponsored walk from Stromness to Kirkwall next Saturday, July 27, to raise awareness of the work they do in the county.
Victim Support Scotland offers free confidential advice to victims and witnesses of crimes. It supports people involved in legal proceedings and court appearances.
Walk organiser Allana Bell explained: “What we’re really trying to do is trying to raise the status and get the word out about what we do. It can be a really helpful service to people who haven’t had much contact with the police or the courts before because that can be a scary experience.”
