Reminder to motorists that schools are back

With the county’s schools back today, drivers are reminded to take extra care when driving near schools especially around opening and closing times.

New 40mph speed limits have been implemented around the following schools in the isles over the summer — Sanday, Eday, Stronsay, Papa Westray, North Walls and Rousay.

In addition, the school crossing in St Margaret’s Hope will be unattended until further notice.
