Sanday linkspan out of action

Orkney Ferries say that it has been advised that the Sanday linkspan is currently out of use due to a technical problem.  It is hoped that the problem will be resolved by mid-afternoon today.

The Earl Sigurd will disembark foot passengers by means of the shore side gangway in Sanday, and will discharge/load as much vehicular traffic as possible by means of the cargo crane – this may result in a delay in departure from Sanday and arrival/departure from Eday and a  later arrival in Kirkwall.
