Share your views on outdoor access
Orkney Islands Council is asking for views that will help shape a new version of the county’s Outdoor Access Strategy.
The strategy was first published in 2006 and has now been reviewed and updated.
A six week consultation begins today, Thursday, to give people and interested groups and organisations the opportunity to pass on comments and suggestions before a final version is adopted by the council.
OIC planning manager Stuart West said: “The aim of the strategy is to help guide the development and management of outdoor access in ways which meet the needs and aspirations of our local community and visitors to the islands.
“We look forward to receiving feedback during the consultation period.”
The updated strategy can be found in draft form on the council’s website.
Paper copies can also be viewed at OIC customer services and the Orkney Library in Kirkwall, and the Warehouse Buildings in Stromness.
For further information please contact the access officer in the development and marine planning team at the council on 87 3535, extension 2541.
The consultation runs until November 24.
