Shetlanders head south for musical Sunday sessions

Continuing from the success of the 2011 Shetland Winter Concerts at Kirkwall’s The Reel, a second visit from the Shetlanders is planned tomorrow, Sunday.

The performance will feature many of the same “weel kent” Shetland faces, including the band Eart Kyent, the Husquoy Collection, singers Stephanie Pottinger and Caroline Simpson and Ivor Pottinger.

Co-organiser Ingirid Jolly said that many of the visiting artists have been  long-term supporters of Orkney and Shetland music and events.

“They are more than worthy of an invitation to entertain Orkney audiences in a concert situation.”
