Short mission for lifeboat

Stromness lifeboat was called out today at 4.30pm after a yacht was reported dragging its anchor across the harbour in a squall.

On what must be the shortest call out of recent times, the lifeboat went out to the yacht – some 100 metres into the harbour – and made fast alongside.

The yacht’s anchor was hauled up and the yacht was towed back to the harbour wall.
