Snooker players in action at national tournament

Two local snooker players are competing in the World Snooker Q School in Burton. Keith Keldie and Erik Wilson, both from Stromness, are hoping to qualify for a two-year tour card on the professional circuit and are competing against over a hundred other amateurs from across the UK. On the professional circuit, the opportunity will be there to compete with the best snooker players in the world in tournaments all over the world. Keith is ranked fourth in the tournament while Erik is ranked twenty-second.

Erik has won his first round match against Kacper Filipiak four frames to three while Keith is awaiting the winner of Darren Bartor and Michael Williams in round two.
