SNP Northern Isles candidate passes away

The Scottish National Party’s (SNP) candidate for Orkney and Shetland during the 2015 election, Danus Skene, has passed away, aged 72.

Mr Skene was also a candidate for Shetland at the 2016 Holyrood elections. during this year’s Scottish elections.

Commenting on her Facebook page, Orkney’s candidate for the SNP Donna Heddle said she was “immeasurably saddened” to learn about Mr Skene’s passing.
