Special guest for coaching conference

Paralympic rower David Smith has been revealed as the special guest at tomorrow’s inaugural Coaching and Volunteering Conference.

The 34-year-old was part of the Great Britain team that won gold in the mixed coxed four event at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London.

Mr Smith, who was awarded MBE in the New year’s honours list,  is due to give a talk tomorrow afternoon at the event, being held at the Pickaquoy Centre.

Organisers say they are delighted with the response for the conference, with a number of local coaches and volunteers signed up.
