Stromness Academy sports leaders to be recognised
Pupils at Stromness Academy are to have their achievements in sports leadership recognised at a presentation to be held on Monday, September 24.
To achieve the Community in Sports Leadership Award Level 2, the group of five S5 and 6 pupils, undertook a programme of course work and work placements between October 2011 and June this year.
‘The young folk who have achieved their Sports Leader awards have all shown a great deal of commitment and have each completed seven units totalling 35 hours of study, with ten hours of work placement within a sporting group of their choice out in their local communities’ explained Michael Swanney, Active Schools Co-ordinator, who will be presenting the awards alongside teacher and Year Head Neil Blance.
