Stromness all set for annual gala week

The 2012 Stromness Shopping Week will be officially launched this morning by Jean Leonard and will see Alanna Swannay, from Birsay, crowned the Shopping Week Queen.

A fun-packed week of action, suitable for all the family, is how chairwoman of the organising committee, Isabel Wishart, wants this year’s event to be remembered.

Describing this year’s programme, Mrs Wishart said there was a good mix between old and new attractions.

Shopping Week runs until Saturday, July 21.
