Stromness teenager fined £250

A 19-year-old has been fined £250 for behaving in a threatening or abusive manner  while brandishing a length of wood.

Appearing from custody at Kirkwall Sheriff Court today, Monday, George William David Grant, of Victoria Street, Stromness, admitted the offence which took place on Saturday.

Fining Grant, Honorary Sheriff John Flett said: “This offence, and looking at your previous record, would justify a fine of £300, but what I am proposing to do is to reduce that, because you pled guilty immediately, to £250.”
