Summer league football set to begin on Tuesday

East United lifted the season’s first piece of silverware, winning the Isaac Newlands Cup.

The summer football season is set to begin in earnest, with the opening matches of the Ocean Kinetics ‘A’ League getting under way on Tuesday night.

Champions Stromness begin their defence of the Brough Cup, which they won for the first time in 41 years last season, as they face Thorfinn at the Bignold at 7pm.

East United welcome Rovers to the East Mainland, and new boys Firth, having won the ‘B’ League last term, host Hotspurs.

The Reserve League then begins on Thursday, May 2, before The Orcadian Parish Cup starts on Sunday, May 5.
