Sutherland thrilled after Scotland call-up

Rachael Sutherland, pictured in 2015, will link up with her Scotland teammates for the World Championships in November.

Rachael Sutherland, Orkney’s international pool player, was left celebrating when she discovered she will test her green baize skills against the world’s elite.

Sutherland was named in the Scotland ‘A’ squad, which will join around 30 different countries from across the world in the World Championships in November in Bridlington.

The third time Sutherland has been called up to the ‘A’ side in her five-year international career, she was understandably thrilled.

“[I’m] absolutely delighted. I thought I was in with a small chance after the last competition, but totally stunned and delighted to get in it,” said the Orkney pool stalwart.
