Teenager admits to attempted robbery in Finstown
A teenager, who admitted attempting to rob a Finstown shop at knife point, has had his sentence deferred for reports.
Christopher Baird, 18, currently detained in Polmont prison in Falkirk, was remanded in custody and ordered to appear again in court on March 28.
During proceedings this afternoon, the court saw CC-TV footage of the attempted robbery at Baikie’s Stores, on February 18, which was thwarted when 20-year-old shop assistant Euan Brown struck Baird with a sticky tape dispenser. Baird staggered backwards and then ran off while Mr Brown called the police.
Baird was arrested later that evening.
