The beautifully decorated stone slab, recovered at the Ness of Brodgar earlier this week, will be back on site tomorrow, Sunday, for the second and final open day of the season.

After eight weeks, and some horrendous weather conditions, 2015’s eight-week dig draws to a close next week.

But before the site is covered over again for the winter, it is open to the public tomorrow, Sunday, between 11am and 4pm, with the excavation team in attendance and continuous tours and demonstrations, such as stone-working, Neolithic cooking and flint-knapping, taking place.

In addition, the Stenness Hall will host activities and displays, should the weather take a turn for the worse.

This year’s first open day, on July 26, saw over 750 people make their way to the Stenness excavation site.
