Tommy’s Family Funday in the Masonic Hall
A fundraising event organised by inspirational Orkney teenager Tommy Miller is taking place in the Masonic Hall, Kirkwall, tomorrow, Saturday.
Tommy’s Family Funday, from 1-4pm, includes a wide variety of activities with all proceeds going into Tommy’s Fund, a new appeal set up by Tommy, who is in remission from bone cancer.
Tommy aims to raise money for the wards in Glasgow’s York Hill hospital, where he spent a lot of time, and the Les Hoey Christmas Fund.
Tommy needs regular check ups in Glasgow and is still adjusting to life after his surgery, however, he is determined to turn his experiences into positive goals and is keen to continue to help others with his fundraising. His goal is to help create a place in Orkney where families with children who have cancer will be able to stay as an escape from the stresses of treatment and family life.
