Tragedy for Orkney family

The tragic death of a 14-year-old boy, on Friday,  while on holiday in America, has hit an Orkney family.

Mckinley Day, of Farndon, Cheshire, who drowned while canoeing in the Beaver River, Croghan, upstate New York, is the son of former Shapinsay resident and Kirkwall Grammar School pupil, Adam Day, and the grandson of Howard and Myra Hazell, Kirkwall.

Mckinley was on holiday with his mother, Lesley, and younger brother, Mitchell.
