Trawler towed to Kirkwall

Kirkwall Lifeboat has now towed the Inverness registered fishing boat Acorn into Kirkwall, having been launched early this morning to go to the aid of the trawler,which lost power while east of Orkney.

The lifeboat crew were called out at 6.30am, headed for the scene, taking the vessel which had six crew onboard, under tow.

The pilot boat Kirkwall Bay also assisted while the boats were on the final approaches to Kirkwall Pier.
