Visiting restricted in response to care home COVID cases

Visits to St Rognvald House have been restricted, as authorities manage a number of COVID-19 cases within the care home.

According to Orkney Health and Care and NHS Orkney’s public health team the majority of those affected at Kirkwall’s residential care home are asymptomatic.

A spokeswoman confirmed this Thursday afternoon that all residents currently remain in the facility with no requirement for hospitalisation at this point. Additional and increased infection control measures have been instigated.

Visits to the care home have been restricted to named visitors only in the meantime — and families have been advised of the situation.
